The descent of the Queen of Heaven
How do you feel when a name pops up on your phone after years of silence?
And how do you feel when you hear a song that drops you back into a kitchen you have left a long time ago?
If this autumn feels heavier than usual, you are not imagining it: from 3 October to 14 November 2026, Venus is retrograde, walking back from Scorpio into Libra.
The Sumerians knew Venus as Inanna, Queen of Heaven. In her oldest myth she descends to the underworld, leaving her crown and jewels at seven gates, until she arrives naked, dies, and rises again. This year she walks straight into Scorpio, the realm of Hades, where her charm no longer works and only what is real remains.
Around 24 October she disappears into the heart of the Sun; when she turns direct near Spica, the goddess of handing over talents, so what survived the descentof Venus is ready to grow.
This is not a time for big romantic decisions.
It is a time for honest inventory: what do you value, and do you value yourself?
Where it lands for you
Venus moves from the house of Scorpio back into the house of Libra. Find your ascendant:
Aries: 8th house (I desire) → 7th house (I balance). Until 25 October, Venus stirs up questions of trust, intimacy and shared money: who holds the power in your closest bonds? After that she moves into your house of partnership, where an important relationship, or an ex, asks for an honest new agreement.
Taurus: 7th house (I balance) → 6th house (I analyse). Venus is your ruler, so you feel this one strongly. First she asks how fair your relationships really are: do you give more than you receive? From late October the focus shifts to daily life, your work rhythm and your body, and which routines nourish or drain you.
Gemini: 6th house (I analyse) → 5th house (I create). In the first weeks you notice where you serve others at the cost of your own wellbeing, at work or at home. Then Venus returns to joy, romance and creativity: an old hobby, an old flame or a forgotten creative dream may knock on the door.
Cancer: 5th house (I create) → 4th house (I look back). Love affairs, children and self-expression come under review: what still gives you real joy, and what has become an obligation? From late October Venus goes home, and old family stories about love and worth surface to be healed.
Leo: 4th house (I look back) → 3rd house (I perceive). Home and family carry the emotional weight: an old family matter, a move or a question about where you truly belong. Later the theme becomes communication, with siblings, neighbours or your own inner voice. Words left unspoken in 2018 may finally be said.
Virgo: 3rd house (I perceive) → 2nd house (I have). With your ruler Mercury also retrograde, misunderstandings come easily, so read and speak twice. From late October Venus moves into your house of money and self-worth: do your prices, salary and spending reflect what you are truly worth?
Libra: 2nd house (I have) → 1st house (I am). Venus rules your sign, so this is personal. First she asks what you cling to for security: possessions, income, a fixed idea of your own value. Then she retraces her steps through your own sign, inviting a reset of how you see and present yourself. Avoid drastic changes to your looks until after 14 November.
Scorpio: 1st house (I am) → 12th house (I believe). The retrograde begins in your own sign, so you feel it in your body and identity: who are you in love when the masks come off? From late October Venus withdraws into your most hidden house, and old secret feelings or longings rise from the unconscious. Rest, dreams and meditation help.
Sagittarius: 12th house (I believe) → 11th house (I know). Something hidden asks to be seen first: an old grief, a secret attraction or a pattern of quietly sacrificing yourself. Then the review moves to friendships and communities: which groups still share your values, and which old friend may return?
Capricorn: 11th house (I know) → 10th house (I use). First Venus looks at your friends, networks and hopes for the future: who truly supports you? From late October she moves through your career and public image, and a former colleague, client or opportunity may reappear.
