Full Moon in Taurus on October 26, 2026
Full Moon at 2° Taurus – Monday, October 26, 2026

There is a particular kind of tiredness that only shows itself when you finally come to a standstill. You set down the last bucket of leaves, pull off your boots in the hallway, and suddenly you feel in your shoulders how much you have carried these past months. The work itself, and beneath it everything you silently took on as well: the agreements you kept while others forgot them, the peace you preserved at the dinner table, that one file no one knows cost you so many evenings. And as you sit there, a question surfaces that you have been avoiding for some time.
Who actually decides what happens to everything I give (away)?
This Full Moon in Taurus asks that question calmly and without detours. It asks you to look at what you truly own, how you tend it, and which forces beneath the surface are pulling the strings. It also asks for patience. What becomes visible now does not need to be resolved within a week.
An honored guest on fertile ground
The Moon stands at 2° Taurus, one degree from her exaltation. There she is received as an honored guest: she is given the best seat at the table, and her capacity to nourish and to make things grow is at its strongest.
In Taurus, feeling rests in the body. Whatever ripens here, ripens slowly and steadily.
We are also in the first decan of Taurus, the decan of work. You may feel the call to till the soil, to draw up the plan, and to decide what goes where.
This can be quite literal: you may feel the urge to do the last clean-up in the garden, to lift the bulbs from the ground and store them for spring.
But this Full Moon can also invite you to reflect on the habits that support your health, or on talents you use too little and that, with a new plan, could make your income grow.
What you prepare with care now will bear fruit later.
Opposite this Moon stands the Sun in Scorpio. So it can also be about questions such as what is mine, versus what we share.
Or what do I own, versus what owns me.
The myth of Europa and the white bull
Europa is the daughter of Agenor, king of Tyre, a port city on the Phoenician coast. One spring morning she walks with her friends to the meadows by the sea to gather flowers. From Olympus, Zeus sees her, and he is so enchanted that he wants to win her for himself. Yet he knows that a god revealing himself in full glory would only frighten a young girl. So he devises a ruse.
He orders Hermes (Mercury) to drive King Agenor’s herd down from the mountain pastures to the shore, to the very spot where Europa is gathering flowers. Zeus himself takes the form of a bull and mingles with the animals. He is snow-white, his horns gleam like cut gemstones, and his breath carries a sweet fragrance.
At first Europa is startled by the great animal, but it remains so calm and gentle that her fear slowly fades. She comes closer, offers him flowers and strokes his flanks. The bull licks her hands and lies down willingly before her. Playfully she weaves garlands around his horns, and finally she dares to sit on his back.
At that moment the bull rises. Calmly he walks to the water’s edge, and before Europa fully grasps what is happening, he is already in the sea. Her friends are left calling out on the shore. Europa clings to a horn with one hand and holds her robe together with the other, while the coast of her youth disappears behind the horizon.
The bull swims across the whole sea to Crete. There, beneath a plane tree near Gortyn, Zeus reveals his true form.
Europa bears him three sons, among them Minos, later king of the island.
Zeus showers her with gifts that will protect her from then on: Talos, a bronze giant who walks around the coast three times a day to guard the island, a hound that never lets its prey escape, and a spear that always finds its mark. Later Europa marries the king of Crete, who raises her sons as his own.
And so she becomes queen and the ancestral mother of a dynasty.
Meanwhile her father sends out his sons to search for her. They never find her.
The bull is given a place in the sky as a constellation, and an entire continent bears her name to this day.
What the story tells us about this Full Moon
The bull is the Moon in Taurus.
Zeus did not choose his form by chance. The white bull is Taurus at its purest: beauty, calm, a sweet fragrance, the pleasure of flowers and touch.
The bull speaks directly to the senses, and that is why Europa trusts him.
This is also how the Moon in her exaltation in Taurus works.
She feels safe in what is familiar, soft and pleasant, and that is her great strength: she can rest, enjoy, let things grow.
It is also her blind spot. What feels comfortable is not necessarily safe ground.
Pluto is the god inside the bull.
Beneath the gentleness of the beast lay a power no one saw.
Pluto in Aquarius squares both the Moon and the Sun, and so becomes the focal point of this Full Moon, just as Zeus steers the entire story from behind his disguise. Europa seemed to lead the game: she chose the flowers, she wove the garlands, she climbed onto his back. Until the bull rose and walked into the sea. At that moment it became clear who was setting the course. That is the question of this square: do I have the control I think I have, or is someone else, or an old pattern within myself, at the helm?
The crossing is the axis of this Full Moon.
Look at the movement of the story: from the solid ground of the meadow into the deep sea. That is literally the Taurus–Scorpio axis. The Moon stands on land, the Sun in Scorpio stands in the water. This Full Moon asks us to let go of the familiar shore for a moment and to feel what moves beneath the surface: the hidden motives, the unspoken agreements, the forces we would rather not have seen.
Mercury is Hermes, who sets everything in motion.
Europa did not know the encounter had been orchestrated.
Hermes had driven the herd to the shore, on Zeus’s orders.
Now that Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, we have the chance to look back at situations that seemed to arise by coincidence.
Who set them in motion, what information was withheld, and to what end?
And just as Europa hung suspended on the open sea, between the old coast and a new one she could not yet see, this period may feel like an in-between space: everything slows down, the destination is not yet in sight, and that is precisely the time to become clear about what really happened.
Venus is the lure, and the return.
Venus, the ruler of this Moon, is the goddess of beauty and attraction, and Zeus used precisely that power as bait. Venus retrograde has asked us these past weeks to look back at what attracted us, what we valued, and which connections we entered because they looked so sweet. Now that Venus returns to Libra, her own sign, the story shifts. On Crete, Zeus reveals his true form.
There is no more disguise; everything is on the table. Later Europa marries the king of Crete, who raises her sons as his own: a union on honest terms. This is how Venus works in Libra: once the true form is visible, relationships can find their balance again.
On new ground she built a kingdom.
Europa arrives on an island she did not choose, and still makes something lasting of it. She becomes queen and ancestral mother, and she is given everything she needs to protect herself, down to a bronze guardian along her shores.
That is the promise of the exalted Moon in the first decan of Taurus: however unexpected the terrain, you can prepare the ground and build with what you have in hand. And you may draw boundaries that protect you.
Europa, the girl and the continent.
It is striking how closely the myth mirrors the continent that bears her name. Europe, too, allowed itself for a long time to be carried by a gentle and benevolent appearance: abundant energy, boundless trade, the firm belief that peace and treaties would endure of their own accord.
And Europe, too, only awoke on open water, when the familiar shore had already vanished behind the horizon, and saw how heavily it had come to lean on others for its energy, its raw materials, its food and its security.
With Pluto in Aquarius, the sign of the collective, and the Moon in Taurus, the sign of what we own and what nourishes us, that question rings especially clear under this Full Moon: what do we produce ourselves, what do we share with one another, and which agreements call for a new negotiation?
Here too, the myth offers us its second half.
Europa did not remain an innocent girl at the water’s edge. She became a queen, with a bronze guardian watching over her shores.
Innocence can be the threshold to wisdom, for those who have the courage to see.
Pluto holds the strings
Pluto at 3° Aquarius squares both the Moon and the Sun.
In such a T-square, the planet at the apex becomes the focal point: all the tension of the Full Moon runs through it.
Around these days a secret, a half-told story, or something long kept private may come to light. Or you may notice that you keep ruminating on it.
The square to the Sun touches the heart of your life.
What stands at the centre, and is it still yours?
Pluto can stir up the desire for control and pull you deeper into your obsessions.
Use that to look honestly: which hidden factors are pushing and driving me? At the same time, this aspect gives you the strength to push back when the pressure from outside becomes too great. Sometimes holding your ground is the most fertile act of all.
Venus rises
Venus has been retrograde since October 3. For the past weeks she did so in Scorpio, the sign of her detriment, where she was drawn into deeper waters. On the day of the Full Moon she climbs back into Libra, her domicile. A Moon in her exaltation, carried by a ruler in her own home: that is solid support.
Being retrograde, she does keep moving backwards.
Work that has been left untouched since August resurfaces.
Relationship themes ask for a second look.
Did you let an opportunity slip?
There is a way forward, and it begins by looking back.
In Libra, Venus can do more than she could in Scorpio. Ease returns, partnerships become lighter, softness comes back.
Venus safeguards what is good for body, mind and soul, and she helps improve existing relationships. But it is a slow return.
The question of these days is therefore: what do I want to bring back to life?
Mercury in a holding pattern
Around October 24 and 25, Mercury stations and turns retrograde in Scorpio. Your thinking may feel slower, everything seems congested, and plans circle like an aircraft not yet cleared to land.
Give travel, transport and technology some extra margin, and use the slowdown to revisit hidden motives, including your own.
Around November 13, Mercury gets moving again. Then you can pick up the thread, and especially those with strong placements in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) will see delayed opportunities return.
From December 4 onwards, he truly picks up speed.
Building with what is there
Taurus says: build. Pluto says: first look beneath the ground. Venus says: go back to what you left behind. Mercury says: take your time.
Simple, embodied rituals suit this moment best. Preparing the garden for winter, cooking a meal with attention, a walk in the cold.
Look honestly at where your energy, your money and your care are going.
And build, like Europa on Crete, with what you have in hand.
Where does Taurus fall in your chart?
Read this for your ascendant, or for the house in which 2° Taurus falls in your birth chart.
1st house – “I am” (Taurus ascendant)
The Full Moon falls on your ascendant, so the light turns towards you: your body, your presence, the way you stand in the world. You possess a natural steadiness that others readily lean on. This Full Moon asks whether you dare to use that same steadiness for yourself. With the Sun and Mercury retrograde in your 7th house, the people closest to you now hold up a sharp mirror; a partner or business relation may put into words what you have not yet said aloud. Pluto at the top of your chart stirs your career and your public role. Who sets the course there, and how much room do you claim for yourself? Venus returns to your 6th house and invites you to rearrange your daily rhythm so that it truly supports your body.
Just as Europa founded her own kingdom on Crete, you may claim your own ground and decide for yourself how much you still give, and to whom or what.
2nd house – “I have” (Aries ascendant)
The Moon stands in the house naturally linked to Taurus, and your resources, talents and self-worth step into the full light. This is an ideal moment to calmly review your finances, and to acknowledge a talent you have carried for years without ever seeing it as a source of income. With the Sun and Mercury in your 8th house, shared resources, contracts, loans or an inheritance may call for review; read the small print with double attention. Pluto in your 11th house can bring hidden power relations within a group or network to light. Venus returns to your 7th house, where a collaboration can become gentler and more balanced again. What you plant with care now grows slowly, and all the more durably.
3rd house – “I perceive” (Pisces ascendant)
You have a refined sense for what is said between the lines, and this Full Moon asks you to take that sense seriously. A conversation with a brother, sister, neighbour or colleague can clarify something that has long hung in the mist. With the Sun and Mercury retrograde in your 9th house, travel, studies or legal matters may be delayed; use that time to test your convictions anew. Pluto in your 12th house works deep beneath the surface: what you have long kept to yourself longs to be seen, and first by you. Venus returns to your 8th house and opens the way to sincere conversations about trust and closeness. Hermes drove the herd to the shore without Europa knowing. With every message that reaches you now, look a little beyond the friendly packaging: who is sending it, and why?
4th house – “I look back” (Aquarius ascendant)
The light falls on your home, your family and your roots. This can be very tangible: the cellar, the attic, the garden that needs preparing for winter. It can also touch a family pattern in which it was long ago decided who could make decisions and who had to follow. With Pluto on your ascendant, you are going through a deep transformation yourself, and it may now reach your oldest sense of belonging. The Sun and Mercury at the top of your chart ask you to bring your career and your home into better harmony. Venus returns to your 9th house and brings an old conviction or a postponed journey back to your attention.
Europa left her homeland behind and built a new home elsewhere; you too may choose what you carry from your roots to the ground on which you stand today.
5th house – “I create” (Capricorn ascendant)
Your creativity, your love and your joy of life long for a solid foundation. A creative project you set aside in August may present itself again, and Taurus asks you to give it a steady rhythm: an hour a week, a clear plan. With Pluto in your 2nd house, the question of your self-worth becomes sharper. Do you let your pleasure depend mainly on what you have earned? The Sun and Mercury in your 11th house turn friendships and networks into a mirror; a joint plan may be delayed and gain maturity precisely because of it. Venus returns to the top of your chart, so a mentor or a former professional opportunity may reappear. For you, joy is the fertile soil in which your best work takes root.
6th house – “I serve” (Sagittarius ascendant)
This house aligns seamlessly with the first decan of Taurus: work, health and the habits that shape your days. What would your day look like if your wellbeing had a fixed, natural place in it? Small, achievable routines can make a remarkable difference over the coming months. With Pluto in your 3rd house, something may come to light in communication at work: what is said, and what is deliberately left unsaid. The Sun and Mercury retrograde in your 12th house ask for rest, and your body will tell you when enough is enough. Venus returns to your 11th house and may bring a former colleague or an old friendship closer again. When you first take good care of yourself, your service becomes a source that keeps flowing on its own.
7th house – “I balance” (Scorpio ascendant)
The Full Moon falls in your house of relationships, with the Sun and Mercury retrograde on your ascendant. The axis of this Full Moon therefore runs right through you and the other. A relationship, personal or professional, comes into full light, and you see more sharply than ever what is given and what is taken. With Pluto in your 4th house, an old dynamic from your family may repeat itself in that relationship; recognising it is the first step towards change. Venus returns to your 12th house, where old feelings and memories gently surface to be healed.
On Crete, Zeus revealed his true form. In your relationships, too, it may now become visible who truly stands beside you, and from that clarity you can make agreements that do justice to you both.
8th house – “I transform” (Libra ascendant)
The Full Moon touches what you share: shared resources, intimacy, trust, everything that connects you to another on a deep level. With the Sun and Mercury in your 2nd house, the question of your own resources and self-worth stands directly opposite. What belongs to you, what is shared, and is that division still fair? Pluto in your 5th house can bring an obsession or an ardent desire to light, in love or in your creative work. Venus returns to your ascendant, and there lies your greatest support: your charm, your sense of balance and your ability to negotiate with grace return. Just as Europa crossed the sea to an unknown shore, this house asks for the courage to entrust yourself, with open eyes, to a deeper connection. What you consciously release, builds room for your new considerations.
9th house – “I understand” (Virgo ascendant)
Your search for meaning steps into the light. A study, a journey, a spiritual path or a philosophy of life you once let go of may return with a new question.
With the Sun and Mercury retrograde in your 3rd house, communication slows down, and precisely because of that you learn to listen more deeply. Pluto in your 6th house asks you to thoroughly reorganise your work and your health; a habit that undermines your strength can now truly be addressed. Venus returns to your 2nd house and helps you bring your values and your resources back into alignment. Europa gave her name to an entire continent.
Your insight, too, reaches further than you suspect, as soon as you are able to share it with others.
10th house – “I achieve” (Leo ascendant)
The light of the Moon falls on your career and on the way the world sees you. With the Sun and Mercury in your 4th house, your home stands directly opposite your career, and the art lies in keeping both in balance. Pluto in your 7th house can make a power play within a collaboration or relationship visible: who decides, who follows, and why? You have more influence than you think, and it pays to use it consciously. Venus returns to your 3rd house, giving an old conversation or a postponed appointment a new chance. Taurus builds stone by stone. Your reputation grows from what you do repeatedly and reliably, and what you prepare with care now will last a long time.
11th house – “I hope” (Cancer ascendant)
Your friendships and communities come into the light. Which people truly nourish you, and where do you give more than you receive in return? With Pluto in your 8th house, this touches deep questions of trust and shared resources within a group. Something may come to light about how decisions are made, and by whom. The Sun and Mercury in your 5th house bring a creative plan or a love story to the surface that still needs time to ripen. Venus returns to your 4th house and brings warmth and a sense of belonging back into your home and family. The future you hope for takes shape when you lay it out like a field: with patience, and with a clear plan.
12th house – “I believe” (Gemini ascendant)
For you, this Full Moon unfolds in the inner world of dreams, intuition and stillness. Old memories, feelings or patterns may surface, to be seen first and released afterwards. With the Sun and Mercury retrograde in your 6th house, your work may be delayed or your body may ask for rest. Listen to it. Pluto in your 9th house can shake a conviction; you investigate, weigh and consider, and what does not work, you set aside. Venus returns to your 5th house and gently brings joy, play and creativity back into your life. Be attentive to your dreams and to the quiet moments, for they carry meaning now.
Just as the bull was given a place among the stars after the crossing, what you are going through now will later find a place that gives meaning to the whole.
Questions for this Full Moon
Light a candle, or step outside for a moment and feel the cold earth under your hands. Then stay with these questions:
Which resources, talents and habits do I already have, and how can I tend them better?
Where do I think I have control, and what is moving beneath the ground?
Where do I hand over my power, and where do I hold on to it too tightly?
What do I need to renegotiate, with someone else or with myself?
What have I left untouched since August, and what do I want to bring back to life?
Which gentle, friendly figure in my life deserves a second, attentive look?
Europa did not know where the bull was taking her.
Yet on the new shore she became a queen, with a land to build.
You do not need to know today where it is all leading.
You may come to know the ground beneath your feet and begin to build, with open eyes.
